Assembler (Soldering)




Location: Dallas, TX

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00/ hour

Schedule: 5:30am - 2:15pm 

Job Type: Full-time




Exegistics is hiring an Assembler (Soldering) to support a client that provides enabling technologies for industrial growth markets requiring advanced technology and high reliability. These markets include aerospace and defense, factory automation, air and water quality environmental monitoring, electronics design and development, oceanographic research, deepwater oil and gas exploration and production, medical imaging, and pharmaceutical research.

Position Overview




The Assembler (Soldering) prepares and solders connectors, splices, and sockets for the molding process following defined policies and procedures.




Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform fine hand soldering using a soldering iron and magnifying glass.

Follow detailed production drawings, sample assemblies, and verbal instructions under general supervision.

Apply established workmanship standards to all aspects of mechanical assembly.

Interpret and work from drawings, work instructions, and bills of material to determine required parts and assembly steps.

Use manual dexterity and hand tools to assemble components and perform precision work.

Operate a variety of hand and power tools to perform skilled fitting and assembly work.

Inspect parts for quality and perform basic testing throughout the assembly process.

Adjust or trim materials to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.

Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.

Handle flammable and hazardous materials safely and in compliance with OSHA standards.




Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum 2 years of electro-mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to read and interpret detailed electronic drawings, schematics, and work instructions.

Prior hand soldering experience required; wire and cable soldering preferred.

J-STD 001 and IPC 620 certifications preferred.

Willingness to receive and provide cross-training across various assemblies.

Strong work ethic, reliability, and consistent attendance.

Availability for overtime (Monday–Saturday as needed).

Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person as defined by federal regulations.




Knowledge and Skills

Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently for comprehension of detailed work and safety instructions.

Good visual acuity (corrected vision acceptable); ability to distinguish colors.

Strong manual dexterity and comfort using hand and small power tools.

Basic understanding of mechanical hardware (nuts, bolts, screws) and assembly processes.

Working knowledge of blueprints, bills of material, and mechanical drawings.

Basic math and computer skills required.

Understanding of 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.
