Quality Technician III


About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Quality Technician III to join our Quality team supporting the manufacture and inspection of advanced composite components, tooling, assemblies, and subassemblies. This role is critical in ensuring products meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements throughout the production process.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality inspection, blueprint reading, dimensional measurement, and documentation within a manufacturing environment.
Key Job FunctionsProduct & Process Inspection
  • Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of manufactured products and components.
  • Conduct visual inspections of composite tooling, components, subassemblies, and finished assemblies.
  • Inspect painted and coated composite parts for quality and conformance.
  • Verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Identify, document, and communicate non-conforming products.
Precision Measurement & Testing
  • Perform dimensional inspections using:
    • Calipers
    • Micrometers
    • Height gauges
    • Depth gauges
    • Indicators
    • Gauge pins
    • Protractors
    • Other precision measuring instruments
  • Perform paint and coating thickness inspections using ultrasonic thickness gauges.
  • Complete precision weighing and measurement activities.
  • Utilize inspection fixtures and tooling to verify part conformity.
Documentation & Quality Records
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
  • Compile certification packages and First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
  • Review supplier quality documentation and inspection packages.
  • Record inspection data and maintain compliance records.
  • Support quality investigations and corrective actions.
Quality Assurance Support
  • Conduct internal quality audits.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and evaluation of components, assemblies, and systems.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality objectives.
  • Recommend corrective actions for quality concerns.
  • Assist in training and development of team members.
QualificationsRequired Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5-7 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong dimensional inspection experience.
Preferred Experience
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience.
  • Composite materials inspection experience.
  • Experience with First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR).
  • Exposure to AS9100 or other regulated quality systems.
