Forklift Operator
Louisville, KY 

1st Shift 

7am-3:30pm 

$19/hr 
Job Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move, load, unload, stack, and transport materials within a warehouse, distribution center, manufacturing facility, or outdoor storage area. This position ensures products are handled efficiently while maintaining safety, quality, and inventory accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
  • Move materials to designated storage, production, or shipping locations.
  • Stack and organize products according to company procedures.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
  • Verify inventory and product counts for accuracy.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations as needed.
  • Complete required documentation and inventory records.
  • Identify and report damaged products, equipment, or safety hazards.
  • Support team members and supervisors to meet productivity goals.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous forklift operating experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain or maintain forklift certification.
  • Basic math and recordkeeping skills.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, with heavier items moved using equipment.
  • Ability to work in varying warehouse or outdoor environmental conditions.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and depth perception.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Experience operating different types of forklifts, including sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, or pallet jack equipment.
  • Strong organizational and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Work Environment
  • Warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, or logistics environment.
  • May require overtime, weekend work, or shift flexibility based on business needs.
  • Requires adherence to all safety procedures and use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
