CNC Machinist - 5-Axis CNC Operator Pay: Competitive pay based on experience Schedule: Full Time | Overtime Available | Some Weekend Work May Be Required Position Summary We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist / 5-Axis CNC Operator to join our growing manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating and setting up CNC equipment, interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings, performing quality inspections, and working in a fast-paced production environment.
This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced machining equipment, composite materials, and a collaborative team focused on producing high-quality products. Responsibilities
Operate and set up 5-axis CNC machines
Run CNC programs to manufacture parts within required tolerances and specifications
Set up and operate automatic and semi-automatic production equipment
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions
Gather tooling, fixtures, and materials needed for job completion
Monitor machine performance and production quality throughout the manufacturing process
Make machine adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and product quality
Perform routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance
Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs when needed
Identify and report machine malfunctions, quality concerns, or safety hazards
Work closely with Engineering and Production teams to resolve manufacturing challenges
Follow all safety procedures and standard manufacturing practices
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Support additional production duties as assigned
QualificationsRequired
High School Diploma or GED
2+ years of CNC machining experience
Previous experience operating 5-axis CNC machines
Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical documents
Experience using precision measuring tools, including:
Micrometers
Dial indicators
Height gauges
Pin gauges
Comparators
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Ability to perform basic trigonometry and geometric calculations
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Excellent attendance and reliability
Preferred
CNC programming experience
Experience with Fanuc controls
Experience with CMS machines and controls
Experience working with composites such as:
Carbon Fiber
Fiberglass
Kevlar
Advanced computer skills
Experience in tooling and precision machining environments
