Exegistics is seeking a Sr. Manager of Transportation and Logistics for our valued client in the Louisville, KY area.

Senior Manager of Transportation and Logistics - Louisville, KY
Job Overview:
Lead and manage company-wide logistics operations, ensuring cost-effective, efficient transportation solutions. Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Marketing, IT, Customer Service, Purchasing, Production, Warehouse) and external partners to enhance customer satisfaction through robust logistics planning, execution, and cost control.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement logistics strategies aligned with business goals.
· Manage carrier relationships, onboarding, contract negotiations, and issue resolution.
· Oversee daily operations of high-volume, multi-carrier shipping systems (e.g., InfoShip/Vx).
· Audit and analyze freight invoices to ensure cost accuracy and contract compliance.
· Partner with 3PL providers to optimize domestic and international freight operations (LTL, FTL, Air, Sea).
· Support cross-functional teams with logistics insights, rate quotes, and cost-saving initiatives.
· Leverage BI tools and shipping data to drive routing efficiency and carrier selection.
· Maintain and improve logistics SOPs, trade compliance, and system training.
· Lead logistics projects and technology enhancements for process simplification.
· Ensure budget tracking, reporting, and variance analysis in coordination with Finance.
Qualifications:
· 10+ years in logistics/operations, with 7+ years in outbound parcel management.
· Experience managing freight spend over $14M annually and carrier RFP processes.
· Strong data analysis skills and proficiency in logistics software (e.g., ConnectShip, Infoship, SAP, SQL).
· Strategic thinker with ability to manage multiple priorities and influence across teams.
· Excellent communicator with a data-driven mindset.
Highly Preferred Qualifications:
· Work History of Logistics & Transportation
· Open to new technology- creating processes & procedures, including any ERP improvement. Their new system will be Business Central and looking for someone that can run with it and create the appropriate effectiveness and efficiencies.
· Strong Negotiator- Carrier contracts to pricing with customers.
· Multi-site oversight – 3 Facilities (KY / MD / AZ) ranging in sizes from 150K – 500K sq. ft.
· Possible 10% travel may be required
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
