Production Technician – Laboratory Environment

Location: Murphysboro, IL (100% Onsite)

Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (occasional overtime required)

Pay Rate: $18/hour

Interview Process: Phone screen followed by onsite interview

About the Role:

We are seeking motivated candidates for a manufacturing/production position in a laboratory environment. This is not a healthcare position, but candidates must be comfortable working with and processing bovine blood. No prior experience is required—Corning will provide full training for the role.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and set up the lab for whole blood processing.

Process bovine blood into serum using centrifugation and separation techniques.

Extract serum into containers and perform multiple centrifugation processes.

Strain and separate serum from red blood cells.

Safely dispose of unusable material.

Operate pumps to transfer serum into pooling tanks.

Complete final filling and packaging processes for serum products.

Weigh and verify product specifications for accuracy.

Document and label all serum products properly.

Maintain cleanliness of lab equipment, bottles, and the work environment.

Store finished products appropriately in the freezer.

Conduct sampling and hemoglobin testing of finished products.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: No prior experience required; training will be provided. Must have 1-2 years of warehouse experience.

Skills:

Good hand-eye coordination for precise serum extraction.

Attention to detail for accurate testing and measurements.

Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in extreme temperature conditions.

Working Conditions:

This role involves repetitive tasks, standing/walking for long hours, and working in a laboratory environment with exposure to hot and cold temperatures, high noise levels, and disagreeable conditions. Candidates must be comfortable with handling bovine blood and performing light manufacturing tasks.
