Maintenance Supervisor



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  
  • Supervise a team of mechanics and technicians for various PM maintenance needs on plant equipment.
  • Start-up/shut down plant machinery each day.
  • Perform safe operation of the boiler and all boiler room equipment.  Perform water and boiler tests.  
  • Installs, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance inspections and services on industrial processing equipment, water levels, water systems and other equipment and systems.
  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment.
  • Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests and makes adjustments.
  • Identify the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.
  • Prepare reports documenting work performed.
  • Responds to daily maintenance requests in a timely fashion to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Collaborates with product manager or plant engineer regarding new products being added and modifications that will be required.  
  • Making necessary modifications and implements tests runs; confers with product manager regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as required.  
  • Have a good understanding of computer-based programming (PLC) - Program PLC’s
  • Perform lockout/tagout and other safety procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Manage established productivity standards. 
  • Ensure work is performed safely and efficiently.
  • Utilize CMMS system to log all work and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Proficient in reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and schematics.

 JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:     
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Some locations may require relevant certifications, a boiler license or PLC programming, preferred
  • Minimum of two years industrial maintenance / engineering experience with specific knowledge of machinery, electricity, electronics, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, welder, and boiler applications.
  • Proficient in the proper use of power and hand tools.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting ability of 3 phase 230-volt systems.
  • PLC programming experience highly preferred
  • Experience in carpentry, boiler repair, welding, and general facility repairs is a plus.
  • Proficient in reading electrical schematics.
